When I travel, I try to do so by a following a simple mantra.
"No Expectations. No Preconceived Notions."
I find it beneficial to approach any journey with an open mind, and to be open to whatever may happen. Forcing a place, or event, to fit within a model you have built within your mind is a sure way to be disappointed by it. The same goes for expecting a thing, or outcome, and receiving another. If I keep my travel goals vague and generalized then I am free to experience and enjoy that which comes my way.
